Southern Belize is known as the “Permit Capital of the World”, after fishing here you will see why.  With an abundance of flats, cayes and lagoons, you should have no problem sighting and casting to many permit.  The cayes and river mouths provide for excellent habitat for tarpon to even further excite you.  Although this region has few bonefish, there are enough quality fish to cast to and complete your “Grand Slam”. 

 

Your hotel is located in the center of Placencia and just a few feet from the beach.  The new accommodations offer large single or double rooms with the added comfort of air conditioning; a luxury during those windless evenings. 

 

Sample Itinerary

 

Arrive Belize City (preferably am), clear customs and immigration, you will be met at the airport with someone to assist you with your transfer to Tropic Air for your flight to Placencia. 

Arrive Placencia and transfer to your hotel.  You will have time to unpack and get your fly fishing gear in order.  Bruce Leslie, your guide will meet you at a designated time later that day to set your fishing schedule.

Bruce will be waiting for you on the beach each morning and you will head out to fish for permit, tarpon, snook and bonefish.  Don’t forget about the “jacks”, they are an absolute blast to catch on a fly rod.
