Mulegé (moo-leh-HEH), is one of the quietist and friendliest Mexican villages in Baja. The village is located in a palm tree filled river valley which opens up to the Sea of Cortez.  Mulege is 136 km (84 miles) north of Loreto.  Very few anglers visit this village each year; in fact you could be one of only a handful of anglers in Mulege during your fishing adventure.  Why go to Mulegé?  We believe the fishing is better here than in any other place in Baja.  The close proximity to the blue water makes it ideal for dorado, sailfish and marlin.  Not to mention skipjack, bonito, yellowtail, grouper and tuna.  Bahía Concepción, just a short ride from the launch, offers some exciting fishing for roosterfish, grouper, barracuda, cabrilla, snapper, pargo, sierra and triggerfish.

Fishing Season:

May to September:  warm water species, dorado, sailfish and marlin.

November to April: cold water species, yellowtail.

Captain: 

The Captains have lived and fished the Mulegé area all of their lives.  We have worked with this group for the past 10 years so they are comfortable with fly fishermen and know what it takes to get fish to the boat.  For you conventional fishermen, “No Problema Señor”, this is the way they fish!

Panga:

We have two types of pangas available for your fishing pleasure; standard 21’ panga and one 25’ Super Panga.

Daily Rate:

Standard Panga - $185 per day.

Super Panga - $200 per day.

Hotel Accommodations:

Histórico Las Casitas Hotel and Restaurant:

The hotel has 8 comfortable air conditioned rooms with a beautifully landscaped courtyard and restaurant.  Javier Aquiar Zuniga, the owner will be your host and will attend to your every need.

Typical Fishing Trip:

Day One; Your trip will start in Loreto; one of our drivers will pick you up and transport you back to Mulegé.  Before dinner that evening you will have an opportunity to unpack and assemble your fishing equipment.  All meals will be served at the Las Casitas Restaurant.  During dinner, your Captain will come to the restaurant to meet you and give you the latest fishing report.  He will also tell what time you are to meet him at the launch the next morning.

Day Two, Three, etc; Breakfast will be served in the restaurant dependent upon your fishing destination, either 4:15 am or 5:15 am.  The restaurant will prepare you a lunch to take with you on the panga.  Your driver for the trip will meet you at the rear of the hotel each morning to transport you to the launch.  You will be fishing each day on the Sea of Cortez until 1:00 pm.  Again your driver will be waiting for you at the launch for your return to the hotel.

Final Evening and Departure:  You will enjoy your final dinner at the Las Casitas Restaurant.  Breakfast will be served the following morning before your mid-morning departure back to the Loreto International Airport.

We can tailor this trip around the airline schedule in Loreto.  Custom packages available upon request, standard fishing package is listed below:

Four nights, three days fishing   @      $875 per person, double occupancy.

Seven nights, six days fishing       @      $1460 per person, double occupancy.

Add $100 per person for Super Panga. 

All trips include:

·        Round trip transportation from Loreto.

·        Three meals per day while in Mulege.

·        Transportation to and from launch.

·        Hotel accommodations in Mulege.

·        Fishing License.

Not Included:

·        Transportation to Loreto.

·        Alcoholic beverages.

·        Additional meals in Mulege.

·        Fishing Equipment.
