“Central Valley Shad”
Why are some anglers more successful than others? This program is intended to help the novice angler understand the key ingredients to make every shad trip an enjoyable experience.
The program will cover fly fishing for shad on our Central Valley Rivers. We will have an in depth open discussion on; selecting the right fly line to match the water conditions, what effect water conditions have on this migratory specie, time of year, why some runs hold shad while others do not, etc.

“Dorado on a Fly”
Every year hundreds of anglers head to Baja California to fly fish for Dorado. Although this program details fishing at our location of Mulege, BCS, the information provided can be used to help all skill levels have a more enjoyable fishing experience south of the border.
The program will cover; preparing for your trip, basic equipment and flies, understanding the importance of bait fish, fishing techniques, fighting your catch, etc.

“Fly Fishing Saltwater”
This program is designed to help the new saltwater angler and those seasoned fly
fishermen select a saltwater destination that will meet their expectations.
The program will cover five (5) different location outside the US, all with
different primary game fish that will be your focus.

Basic Saltwater Fly Fishing
Clinics
Shad Clinic
Fly Fishing Clubs can schedule an “On the Water Shad Clinic” with Excellent Adventures. The clinic will be held on the American River during the middle of May. The 3 to 4 hour clinic is limited to 8 students at a cost of $25 per student. The intent of the clinic is to prepare you for the upcoming shad run.
Trout Fishing for Beginners
This clinic is geared toward the beginning fly fisherman. We will cover; basic knots, equipment selection, entomology, selecting the right fly, casting, nymph and dry fishing. The 5 to 6 hour clinic will be held on the Calaveras or Mokelumne Rivers. Limited to 6 students at a cost of $75 per student.
