Klamath River Recap
2007
We couldn’t muster enough willing anglers to go back to the Klamath this year.
Might have something to do with last year’s shortage of half-pound steelhead.
But Joe and I made the trip on our own just so we could get a better feel of the
river for future trips. Historically the second week of October should be when
the half-pound steelhead are in the Happy Camp area. Joe fished the first part
of the week and found some willing half-pound steelhead but not in big numbers.
I fished the second half of the week. The first day on the water we caught a
fair number of half-pounders and a couple of adult steelhead. We were looking
forward to the next day but it poured all night long and blew the river out.
End of story!
